Drummerfest Returns in 2021 as Interstate Music Fest, October 6-9, 2021

Nearly 20 years ago in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Drummerfest originated and brought together percussionists from across the country, as well as performances by national recording artists and master clinicians like Calvin Rodgers, Gerald Heyward, and Carter McClean.

Interstate Music has announced that a reimagined Drummerfest will return as Interstate Music Fest on Wednesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 9th. The multi-day free event will be live-streamed to a national audience. New this year, Interstate Music Fest will celebrate drum enthusiasts and guitarists, pianists, concert-goers, horn players, DJs, rockers, melomaniacs, and more.

“Interstate Music is ready to return to the music festival scene with the same hype and enthusiastic following Drummerfest has created over the years, but this time to support a much larger audience,” says Jeff Peterson, CEO at Interstate Music. “We are listening to our music community and know that all musicians and music lovers continue to need support. And that is exactly why we chose to expand this year’s event and open the invite to all musicians and include bowed strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard, and the entire guitar family.”

For years, music festivals like Drummerfest have inspired future generations to embrace their own beat. Inspiration, education, exposure, and entertainment will remain the focus of Interstate Music Fest in 2021. In addition, event organizers and sponsors hope to bring even more participants closer to the artists, performances, techniques, and music products they love by streaming live shows, podcasts, workshops, and more.
